When I first got married, I read that the language of flowers created an ultra romantic language for lovers in which flowers replaced words. Flowers have always held a special place in my heart, maybe because my name, Heather, is named after one. When I decided to renew my wedding vows for my fifteen-year anniversary, I knew I had to have a magical bouquet.
Over the years, I have studied the metaphysical properties of flowers. Flowers are very similar to healing crystals in that each one is unique and has a special message to share, if we take the time to listen. Some flowers assist in awakening the spirit, some bring happiness and some calm the mind. However, the intention for my magical wedding bouquet was love and romance. I immediately called my floral experts, Lisa and Lee, the owners of Growing Wild in Manhattan Beach. And they of course assured me that they knew all the love flowers to make that perfect, magical wedding bouquet.
Here are the flowers for love that were used in my magical bouquet:
- Peony for a happy marriage. It is believed to be a flower of wealth and honor.
- Jasmine for grace, elegance and joy.
- Yellow Tulips to be hopelessly in love.
- Red Roses for romantic love.
- A sprig of Heather to make wishes come true.
- Myrtle to move forward in unity and oneness.
- Stargazer Lily for purity.
My entire bouquet of flowers for love was wrapped with silk and pearls.
The moment I held it in my hands, I felt the energy of love. I had asked one of my good friends to lead our vow renewal ceremony. She asked us to meet her at a private beach in which my husband and children were guided along a long rocky path near the ocean. We stopped at a heart Labyrinth, where the ceremony would take place. Each of us walked into the middle of the labyrinth, and made an offering, said prayers, released our past and said anything that we wanted to confess. Tears streamed down our faces, as past hurts were washed away, and the renewal and rebirth of love were reestablished.
In that moment, I felt 100% connected to my husband, my kids, my friend, the earth, God and a divine plan. I knew that magic is for real. Real in the sense that if we believe in pure love, the universe delivers pure love back. How it presents itself constantly changes, but today, it was my family, great friends, simple pleasures and the beautiful magical bouquet of flowers for love that I held in my hands.
