The Rainbow Energy of the 7 Chakras

7 chakras

Recently, I was reading a book about the mystical and spiritual aspects of the Hawaiian Islands, and they referenced humans as children of the Rainbow. This really resonated with me, as it reminded me that we are all light and energy and vibrate with color. Most people have heard of the 7 chakras, but in case you have not, here is a quick overview.

The 7 chakras are invisible wheels of energy that run from the base of your spine to above the top of your head. The colors of the chakras are similar to the colors of a rainbow. When you see a rainbow in the sky, after a cleansing rain, it makes you smile. The pure beauty of the colors shining through the sky is a reminder that we have these radiant colors within us. Every one of us is a ray of light, but sometimes, life gets difficult and the light within us diminishes. It is during the times of darkness that we need to switch our internal light of rainbow back on.

A quick and easy way to shift is to visualize wheels of energy running up your body:

  • Starting at your tailbone with your root chakra, see a wheel of red connecting you to the foundation of the Earth.
  • Moving up to your sacral chakra, see an orange wheel spinning with the energies of creativity and sexuality.
  • Next is your solar plexus chakra, associated with the color yellow and your will. See yourself having the willpower to accomplish your goals and dreams.
  • The heart chakra resides right over your heart, and is connected with the colors pink and green. This wheel of pure green energy assists you in opening your heart up to love and allowing yourself to forgive both yourself and others.
  • The throat chakra is blue and assists in facilitating the truthful communication, from a place of grace. Visualize a turquoise, blue wheel spinning brightly over your throat. This will help you to think before you speak.  Your words are your wands, so choose them wisely.
  • Your third eye chakra connects you to your intuition and inner knowing; it is associated with the color indigo.  Visualize a vibrant indigo wheel of energy spinning to trust yourself in knowing that you know yourself better than anyone. Trust your inner guidance.
  • The final wheel of energy is the crown chakra. It is associated with the color is white, and it connects you to something bigger than yourself.
