Get Out of Your Own Way

Get Out of Your Own Way

For many of us, the last days of summer mark the end of a favored pastime such as sipping on lemonade by the pool and watching the days go by to the sudden shift in reality as we’re suddenly knocked off our oversized pool floats and submerged into the shockingly cold waters of the real world. Throughout this nostalgic time you might even consider what it is you are giving up to go back to. Hopefully some of you feel a rush of excitement to enter the workforce, take your seat in the classroom, or embark on a spontaneous new adventure. However, for those of you who are still holding on to these last few weeks of carefree irresponsibility, you might stop to ask yourself what is missing from your life that fulfills you and brings meaning into your world.

Today, we encourage you to reflect on how far you have come to get to where you are now. Is it a place you always dreamed of reaching? Or is it just another pit stop on your journey to the real destination? Maybe you even thought of going to one place and then ended up in another that has satisfied you in the meantime, but is it truly where you want to be? All of these are important questions to ask because at the end of the day, you determine which direction you want to follow. The universe can post signs to help guide you, but only you can decide which turn to take. The ultimate compass is your heart and no person or event can break the spinning needle in your chest. Generally, when it comes to chasing our dreams and desires, we as individuals need to get out of your own way. Some of you may feel undeserving of success, while others fear what success might change—or even more scarily the chance that it doesn’t offer what you truly want out of life. Whether it’s your negative mindset, looming fear of failure, lack of confidence, or that you’re simply set in your ways and can’t get out of your comfort zone, these are all things YOU yourself can change!

The first step toward living out your dreams and desires is realizing you’re worthy of finding happiness in whatever form of success that may be to you. Understanding that you’re deserving can provide you with confidence to do what you’ve always wanted to in life. Furthermore, knowing your worth can give you confidence to seek your own truth and discover who you are as a person. Some of the ways you can strengthen your mind, body, and spirit enough to bring courage to fulfill your dreams and desires is by connecting with your crystals. Sodalite is a highly artistic healing stone that soothes your throat chakra enabling you to find your inner voice. It brings new inspiration into your life and is traditionally tied to strengthening your self-worth, self-esteem, and confidence so that you may reach your highest potential. Lapis Lazuli offers insight, self-awareness, and is a powerful tool that can be used to deepen your meditation. As you strive to discover your purpose, Lapis Lazuli can help you stay focused and emotionally balanced so your deepest desires can be brought to light. Once you feel inspired to make moves toward your new future, Tiger’s Eye can reinforce your personal power giving you the strength to follow through with your intentions.

You may not know exactly where you’re going or where you’ll end up, but the most important thing to remember is that you control where life takes you. You are the driver of your reality, not a passenger. Do not let minor bumps in the road or strenuous hills deter you from following the path you know you are meant to follow. If there is something you dreamed of getting out of life or desires you wish to experience, your time is NOW. So, get out of your head and reflect. Know that anything is possible if you believe in yourself enough to make it happen. Understand that in order for your dreams and desires to come true, it takes more than just putting it out into the universe. While connecting with your crystals and speaking words of affirmation is a way to increase the opportunity for positive change it is not enough. You must DO as you SAY. Most importantly, do not be afraid to follow your heart… it is the core of who you are and holds many of the answers you seek.
