Crystallized, Gem Party Ideas

Sometimes it can feel like we get into a rut with our friends. We settle into comfortable routines like Sunday brunch, drinks with the girls or movie nights. As fun as these are, with any relationships, it’s important to spice things up. If you feel your friend group outings getting a bit stale, infuse them with some crystallized entertainment. A crystallized gem party is like the Tupperware party of yesteryear; except, ya know, for eccentric, wellness-loving ladies who are obsessed with deeper meanings. They’re a great way to reconnect with friends while raising your energy, perspectives and outlooks.

3 Ways to Throw a Gem Party

Crystal Exchange

Healing crystals can be our best friends during difficult times. Sometimes you just need that silent, reassuring energy to lean on and get you through the day. Giving that crystal—which gave you so much love and support—away, may seem like losing a friend, but it can actually be a therapeutic gesture of release when done with intention. A crystal exchange party is a great way to let go of the past, celebrate the resilience of your spirit and invite the energy of a new phase into your life.

Invite your friends over for a day of wellness, and instruct them to bring a crystal that they are ready to set free. Begin the exchange by sitting in a circle, and setting one last intention with the stone that each of you has brought. Infuse the crystal with your love, expressing your gratitude for the positive vibes it lent you in your time of need. Ask that it bring the next person it lands with the same transformative vibrance that it gave to you. Bless it with hope and good fortune, and then set it down.

Place numbers next to each of the crystals, and then write down numbers on pieces of paper before folding them in half and placing them in a bowl. One by one, have each of your guests pull numbers out of the bowl. The number they select will correspond to which crystal the universe has willed into their life. Once everyone has a new crystal, return to a circle and let everyone close out the exchange by setting an intention with the energy of their new stone.

Sweet Dreams…Catcher

Turn your house into a crafty corner for this fun activity that will add sweet dreams, positive vibes and a fun, bohemian touch to your bedroom! Invite your craftiest friends over to chat and create with crystals. For this craft, you can either purchase enough pre-made dreamcatchers for each of your friends to start with, or you can go all out and buy the string and embroidery hoops for everyone to make their own. After you all have your dreamcatchers, spruce them up with crystals. Using crystal beads allows you to easily tie the crystals onto your dreamcatcher. Crystals that are especially attuned to the soothing frequencies needed for a restful night’s sleep are amethyst (the stress-reliever), sodalite (the harmonizer), moonstone (the bringer of new beginnings) , clear quartz (the amplifier) and jade (the purifier). Each of these can be tied to your dream catcher to form a crystal grid that you can hang above your bed.

Crystal Connection

If you’re throwing a larger gem party, and bringing more than one group of friends together, a crystal connection will help your guests to branch out of their comfort zone and meet new people. When a guest enters the gem party, they will be handed a crystal. Later in the gem party, instruct your guests to group up according to what crystal they were given. So everyone with an amethyst will group together. Everyone with a selenite will group up, etc. Not only does this give your guests a meaningful party favor, it helps them connect with the new people in their group. Once in the group, give them a few minutes to get acquainted. Then teach them about setting intentions using their crystals. They can either set personal intentions, or set the intentions they have for their newfound friendships!
