Everyday, we shower or bath to cleanse our bodies, but spiritual baths can cleanse the mind and spirit as well. As we literally wash away the dirt and grime of the day, we can also cleanse ourselves from stress and negative energy that have accumulated. Taking time to care for your mind, body and soul needs to be part of our regular lives and having a ritual that we commit to regularly ensures that we remember to give back to ourselves. A full moon ritual is one of the best ways to do so because it not only commits us to time for ourselves each month, but also teaches us to live in tune with the moon and harness the moon’s energy.
Full moon bathing has become a popular way to honor the moon and reconnect with the divine feminine within all of us. Create a beautiful moon bath by including stones such as moonstone in the water. Moonstone properties are especially powerful during the full moon. It is said that a moonstone stone can reveal to women their feminine power and facilitate their connection to their inner goddess. For men, it allows for the expression of the feminine side, an important step on the path to wholeness. You can add other healing crystals and stones to your bath as well, but avoid soft stones like selenite, malachite, turquoise, amber, and pearl. Heather’s favorite is rose quartz for a self-love bath.
Since the full moon is a time to release and let go, it is important to release emotional blockages with a full moon ritual, as well as physical toxins with a Himalayan salt bath. Himalayan salt releases toxins from your body by pulling them out while also adding many minerals back into your system. Combining moonstone and Himalayan salt makes a simple, yet deeply healing and spiritual bath.
To make the bath a sacred time for yourself, add candles around the tub, diffuse essential oils and pour yourself an herbal tea to sip while unwinding. This bath can be done more than once a month. We recommend you perform the entire full moon ritual for a deep experience.
