Just the other day, while spending copious amounts of time on Pinterest (it’s so addicting), we stumbled upon a recipe for Watermelon Green Tea, and it is proving to be one of our favorite summer drinks. What’s better on a hot, summer day than watermelon? And when combined with refreshing iced green tea, that’s a winning combination.
Green tea is thought to be one of the healthiest drinks on the planet, as it is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients. It has been shown to improve brain function, weight loss and even lower your risk of cancer–too many benefits to pass up trying it. Watermelon also has many health benefits, including improving blood circulation, eye health and adding anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support.
Dive into this summer drink recipe and let us know what you think!
- 1/4 cup pureed watermelon (we strained ours)
- 1 cup brewed green tea
- a couple of mint leaves
- lemon and lime slice
- your choice of sweetener if you want it sweeter
Puree your watermelon and strain it until you have around a quarter cup of watermelon. Add your watermelon puree to your cup of brewed and iced green tea. Stir together until it becomes the wonderful rich pink color. We added a couple of mint leaves and just a little squeeze of lemon and lime. It doesn’t get much easier than that for summer drinks!
